Happy Wedding Day to me & my husband

On Friday 6th October 2017, I married my best friend, my soul mate, my love. Only 48 hours earlier, I'd said farewell to my Dad so I was ready to have a brilliant, happy day creating everlasting memories.

Everyone tells you how quickly the day passes you by and it really does! I had stayed overnight at the Hotel Du Vin in Cambridge and after a delicious breakfast, I simply wanted to relax. I walked into Cambridge with my sister in law - had to get some last minute things - and then I went for a walk with my Mum and Megan just to try and get Megan to sleep. This didn't work so it was time to go to the hairdressers with my Mum, my sister in law and Megan of course. After surviving the full 90 minutes there, we jumped into a taxi to go back to the hotel and of course, Megan fell asleep. By this time, it was only 90 minutes to our wedding, our photographer was waiting in reception and I was still in my scruffs. I didn't panic once, even when Megan point blank refused to wear her dress and wanted to wear her Paw Patrol pyjamas for the ceremony. It was then that I had to resort to bribery...which worked a treat. I have never seen my daughter get dressed so quickly!

We had a few photos in the hotel room and I'd made my way outside with Megan and my brother and had a beautiful car ride across Cambridge in a Bentley. Something that was an absolutely fantastic experience for us. Our photographer sat in the front seat of the car, he was really keen on getting more natural shots of the day rather than posed photographs. The ceremony was beautiful and more than anything, it was better than I expected. My stepmum did a beautiful reading and my Mum and stepmum in-law were our witnesses. We came back to the hotel after having some pictures at the registry office and enjoyed an elegant dining experience. There were two speeches, my brother after our starters and my husband after our mains. Both speeches made me a little tearful but the edges of emotion were broken by moments of laughter provided by our daughter who proved to be a cracking source of entertainment throughout the evening.

Our party continued into the evening. We had a few drinks in the snug below the private dining room before heading back to our suite where our daughter was exhausted and had fallen asleep a few hours earlier. In the snug, we took our gorgeous pooch Baxter down with us to enjoy the festivities. I think he had tried a few beers by the end of the evening.

I thoroughly enjoyed my wedding day and we woke the next morning ready and refreshed to head off to the seaside for our honeymoon. We had blatantly packed too much but after the last few days, we were ready for some well earned rest.

I thought I would include a few photos of the day....
